but more importantly…

We all have our favorite childhood storybooks, the ones we loved hearing before bed or during circle time in kindergarten, but I don’t mean those.
I mean the first book that ever had me under the covers past my bedtime, with a flashlight, glued to the page. The first book that kept me inside all weekend, despite it being a perfect sunny day to run amuck with all my neighborhood friends.
My first literary love. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. A young adult dystopian, futuristic novel. A genre that holds a special place in my heart, even till this day. It’s since been made into a Netflix movie.
Lucky for me, this one was a book series and as soon as I finished, I rushed to the library to rent its sequel, Pretties.
And thus, my love of fiction was born.

The cliche version: The Beach
The real version: I love the ocean, I love the sand, and I go nuts for the magical place where the two meet. But add in some mountains in the back? And a lush forest in those mountains? With a sunset? And a bonfire? Oh my god, I’m literally in my personal version of paradise.
But I know the Beach can be anywhere and all over.
A few of my favorites are Panther Beach in Santa Cruz, CA and Phra Nang Beach, Railay, Thailand.
I could spend a lifetime searching for beaches to add to this list, and honestly, I just might.

I’ll never tire of a good ‘ole party game. LOVE them. Taboo, Spoons, Cheers to the Governor, and Never Have I Ever, are some of my all time favorites. I’ll always go back to these gems. If it ever gets to be the time of night where I’m frantically searching the house for a deck of cards, it’s probably time for me to head home soon.
